Soft washing is the answer for every exterior surface that high pressure would wreck. Instead of blasting growth off, a biodegradable solution kills it at the root, dwells, and then rinses away at little more than garden-hose pressure.
It is slower to look impressive and far better for the surface. It also lasts considerably longer, because killing the algae and mould means it has to grow back from nothing rather than from what survived in the pores.

Roofs, and why pressure is never the answer
Those black streaks running down an Oklahoma roof are a cyanobacteria colony feeding on the limestone filler in the shingles. Pressure washing a roof strips the protective granules off, voids most manufacturer warranties, and takes years off the roof's life.
Soft washing kills the growth chemically and leaves the granules where they belong. The roof lightens over the following days as the dead organism weathers off, and it stays clear far longer than a blasted roof would.
Siding, stucco and painted brick
Vinyl and composite siding hold a chalky film that a rinse alone will not shift, and forcing water up under the laps is how water gets behind the wall. Low pressure plus the right solution lifts the film without driving anything anywhere it should not go.
Stucco and render are porous and brittle at the surface. Painted brick is only as durable as the paint. Both get the same gentle treatment, and both come up considerably better for it.
What it will and will not fix
Soft washing removes algae, mould, mildew, lichen and the general grey film that accumulates. It will not repair failed paint, fix oxidised vinyl that has lost its colour, or undo physical damage. If we see any of those during the quote we will tell you rather than take the job and disappoint you.

What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Pressure washing removes dirt with force and suits concrete and masonry. Soft washing removes it chemically at low pressure and suits anything painted, rendered, panelled or roofed. Using the wrong one is how exteriors get damaged.
Will soft washing damage my roof?
No, and that is the point of it. Pressure washing a shingle roof strips the granules and generally voids the warranty. Soft washing kills the growth without touching the surface.
How long do the results last?
Typically two to four years on a roof and two to three on siding, against roughly a year for a pressure-washed surface. Killing the organism rather than knocking it off is what buys the difference.
Are the solutions safe around plants and pets?
Yes, when applied properly. Landscaping is pre-wetted before we start and rinsed thoroughly afterwards. Keep pets indoors while the crew is on site.
Can you do the house and the roof in one visit?
Yes, and it is the sensible order: roof first, then siding, then windows if you are having those done. Bundling comes in cheaper than booking separate trips.
